My Synology NAS went kaput. So I need a new server. I have an extra Shield Pro (that I would use as a server only) and a Pi 4. Any suggestions which would be better?
I use a Pi 4 and have no issues (at least related to the server side... some player issues with one crappy android TV device, but that's a different story). I had a Shield Pro and had a few issues with power outages causing the Shield to reset itself causing me to have to reinstall stuff, and once it went to it a requirement that the app be side loaded, sticking with the Pi 4 became a no brainer. I love that it just works... 0 maintenance on my side required and it supports recording multiple programs at a time while streaming to up to 4 TVs / devices at a time with no issue.

I was able to have success with multiple recordings but only after I replaced the WD HDD with a Samsung SSD. That step turned the RPi4 into a champ.
