I had an older kickstarter connect hdhomerun that simply stopped working. I got a new flex model in the mail today. Is there anything I need to do when swapping the units out? Will it find my channels server on its own? It's been years since I set this up and don't remember what I did. What information should I have handy before I start installing the new one?
Just swap it out. Channels should discover it automatically.
Will likely need to update that tuner in the source page to use the OTA guide, but it's been so long since I swapped out, I may be mistaken.
The kickstarter Tuner power supply may have failed. Check it out using a volt meter. If so, the order a new one. Then you could have an extra tuner for OTA reception.
I have replace two of my original HDHR tuner power supplies.
