New user; audio description

Greetings,
Would really appreciate any opinions & thoughts.

Blind user here. Currently using a TiVo + Xfinity for cable TV & Roku for OTT services.

TiVO Roamio is on it's last legs and I really need to find a replacement. One questions must be answered before I continue researching. Does Channels support Audio Description? As a blind user, having Audio Descripton is a must. TiVo + Xfinity provides AD as long as the show is produced with it, and the Roku (haven't tried Fire or Apple TV) provides a great AD product.

Is AD supported and "easy" to get using Channels?
Many thanks,
Jeff

Yes, on Apple TV if you have VoiceOver enabled then the Channels player will automatically pick the DVS track (when available).

Note that Channels doesn't support Roku, so you would need to find a HDHomeRun PRIME to use with your Xfinity cablecard, and an Apple TV connected to your TV's HDMI.

Excellent info about the DVS (described video?) track being automatically selected when using Voice Over. Thank you very much

Regarding the 2nd half of your reply; my plan was to ditch the TiVo and Roku, and only have Apple TV's connected. Can I still do this with Channels? Ideally, I wouldn't use Xfinity's cable card or the HDHomeRun.

I assume you mean via TVE just using your xfinity login. Unfortunately those streams coming from the web don't include secondary audio, so you would need cablecard+hdhomerun for that use case

Bummer
But that is exactly what I needed to know.
Thank you

Upon further reflections, perhaps this is a possibility. Any chance you can link me where someone describes how this all works together? I really don't want to go with TiVo moving forward.
Thank you,
