Thanks. Worked fine. Disabled the auto-start in task scheduler and using the Windows Service. Starts on startup and stays running throughout RDP sessions and login logout procedures. I did uncheck the run at login though. Not sure if that was necessary.

The new windows setup utility is now available at https://channels-dvr.s3.amazonaws.com/SetupChannelsDVR.exe
You can use it to easily install/start/stop/remove the background service.
I just installed channels dvr on windows 7, when I logout of computer channels doesn't work anymore. Is there something I'm doing wrong. I thought this new version runs as a background service with the new installer. Please let me know.
You have to pick the background install option in the installer.
