So am a complete beginner to CHANNELS. Set up a DVR server on a rasp pi 4 with external USB 3 drive. It started fine. Can see it with WEB UI interface from my laptop.

Setup my account and install PLUTO channels via m3u playlist. Made sure the EPG was updating. Can see channels. Select to play and nothing. Get a PLAYBACK FAILED (-17) message on everything. After I started this all on the ONN GOOGLE TV device client.

Can see these same M3U streams with two other clients no issue. What is CHANNELS DVR doing to prevent seeing these?

submit diagnostics from the Onn after the error, via settings > support

Did that just now. Still getting the same message. What are the next steps? Any debugging on my end?

Am reading that Pluto M3U source could be an issue. Any other M3U SOURCES you can recommend to test with? Am primary going to use M3U SOURCES and nothing else with CHANNELS.

Can you watch those channels on the web UI?

Maybe you setup your source wrong. Is it set to HLS mode?

Yea you selected MPEGTS which is wrong.

Also I would recommend using https://nocords.xyz urls instead.

What is the correct one to select for streaming M3U SOURCES?

Depends on the source. Pluto is HLS

Changing to HLS instantly fixed the issue.
