Sorry total newb. Just installed Channels DVR, logged in with my DirecTV login. Many channels show up except for the NHL Network.
Tried rescanning. Nothing. Clicked on Edit under TVE Channels and see some grayed out channels, but NHL is not on the list.
What do I do?

That means that the NHL Network is not available via Channels' TV Everywhere integration.
(Edit: apparently I missed a word. Yes, if it isn't in the list, it isn't supported.)

What determines which channels are/aren't included? NHL Network is part of my DirecTV package. I've also just realized NFL and a few others are not there.

Channels can only support networks that provide a live stream of linear programming on their website.
Just because can receive a channel with your cable/satellite/OTT package, that does not mean that your provider also grants you access to the same networks' apps/websites with your credentials.
Oh I see. So, it doesn't pull the stream from DirecTV, but from the networks directly.

Correct. Your DirecTV (or other provider) credentials are only used to authenticate with the networks' websites. The content comes directly from the networks' websites.
NHL Network does not have a live stream on their website, just a search tool to see if your provider carries the channel. Until such a stream is available, it will not be possible to add it to Channels.
