No guide data on ATV after a few hours from now

Starting today, I’m only seeing a couple of hours of guide data on my ATV. I see guide data ok on the DVR - it’s just the ATV that’s missing it, after about 11pm tonight (it’s 7:30 now).

I tried restarting ATV app, completely uninstalling and reinstalling app, and restarting the DVR. Same behavior.

:frowning:

I should add the DVR features are working fine - the missing guide data is the only strange thing happening.

DVR version is 2017.03.24.2223

Hmm nothing has changed recently.

Does clicking on future guide items bring up the record option?

Yes.

While I was checking that, I noticed that I’m seeing one more hour now. So in total I’m seeing about 3 hours of guide data, similar to before - it’s acting like a 3-hour sliding window of data, starting from the current time.

This also could have been happening for a day or two - thinking back to what I was watching, I’m not sure I would have noticed…

I am not sure if this is the same thing but I’ve experienced a type of delayed (buffering) issue with the guide that sometimes limits the guide initially. I’ve had success in resolving it by swiping to the right and down until you get to the show that is filled in to the right most position. Wait about 10-15 seconds and the guide fills in.

Initially three hours of data are loaded, and then additional data comes in 8 hours at a time as you’re scrolling to the right. The speed at which it loads depends on the speed of the computer/NAS where the DVR is running.

There is one known bug that prevents data from loading in, but it only triggers if the first channel is missing a guide source. If you switch to All Channels on the ATV, does the first row say Unknown?

Also check your DVR log for any errors.

It appears that only Favorites are missing in the Guide.

Actually yes - the first three channels show as unknown. They are 1.6, 1.7, and 1.8; no idea what they are. I see them in the HDHomerun channel lineup, and I see them on the ATV, but I don’t see them in the channel list the DVR has.

How can I go about removing them?

EDIT: oops, my bad - the DVR shows them too, I just needed to scroll down to the SD Channels.

They should show up in the DVR, on the Settings tab.

Easiest workaround for now is to hide those channels on the ATV. I’ll get a proper fix in next week.

Once I found them in the DVR list, I clicked the hide button there for them. Then restarted the ATV app, and all is well now.

Thanks so much for the help!

This bug has been fixed in v2.1.29, now available on the App Store. Thanks for reporting it!
