No Windows client ?!

How is it possible that Channels has no Windows 10 client?! That's astounding.

Because the vast majority of people don’t watch TV on their computer. There is also no Mac or Linux client. They are a small team and they have their hands full with supported clients.

Just ask android users that are still waiting on features that iOS and tvOS have had for months. You could try the Kodi client but personally I don’t know what kind of experience it provides.

you could run the android client on windows if you really want a client on windows.

Or, use Emby. They have a very good Windows Software. There is way to export your Channels DVR Server channel list to .m3u and use that as a tuner in Emby. Search the form to find out how to do that.

Actually, there is a MacOS client.

It is weird because, there is enough of a Windows client built into the Windows DVR server that you can watch using the DVR server (which, needless to say, I have running on Windows). With all that Windows development in place, it would seem a small stretch to have a bonafide Windows client. It is ironic that if I watch the TV files directly (using whatever video player) there is unnoticeable latency when skipping, but when watching via the DVR server, there is a surprisingly huge latency (like, a few seconds, because: Windows computer --> network --> same Windows computer). But the video player doesn't know anything about commercial skipping.

I wish. But there is not. You're thinking of the iPadOS client, which can be used on an Apple Silicon Mac.

I heard a rumor they were going to develop a windows client as soon as they finish custom color themes and user profiles. Of course ATSC3.0 DRM development will also be completed first. I heard they expect all these things to be ready in early 2030. Of course by then artificial intelligence will be writing all software, so who knows what will happen.

I would be supportive of a Windows Client, mostly because it could also be ported to XBox hardware. I totally get prioritizing it lower, though.

As long as it is out by 2050 I'm happy.
