Noob with a couple of issues

I just installed Channels DVR, yesterday. Install is on Windows 10. I have 2 HDHR Primes and TV Everywhere (Spectrum) set up.

I have only tested on Windows 10 and my Android phone (Galaxy S9).

The first issue I have is the spinning icon in the middle of the picture. On some channels, tuned in live, the video is playing just fine, but the spinning icon never disappears. This is happening on both devices, but not on every channel. It is happening with channels from both HDHRs and TV Everywhere, so no correlation there.

The second issue is playback on recorded content. I have only made 2 recordings to test and both happen to be from TV Everywhere channels. The content will only play for about 3 minutes (haven't timed it) and stop...it then displays the poster for the content with a play button. Clicking the play button appears to take me back to the beginning of the content, but does not play. This is the same behavior for both recordings, on both devices, and when the phone is on the home wifi or on mobile data.

If I stop the video, completely, and go back to recordings to start it again, it does resume from where it locked up.

I have restarted the host PC and have had no change.

Suggestions on either is appreciated.

On your android phone are you using Chrome or the Channels app?

Channels app

I'm confused because you're saying the behavior is the same on both devices, but one device is using a browser and the other is using an app.

The poster and play button don't exist in the app for instance..

Let's focus on the app first. When an issue occurs, click Submit Diagnostics > Video Player in the Player Settings tab and then post here describing what happened after the logs have uploaded

Okay, that's interesting. I would have bet you I saw that in the app.

Anyway, I am at work, and do not get a good 4G signal in my building, so I stepped out for a break and fired up the app. I watched one of the recordings for about 10 minutes, without an issue. I then tuned a couple of live channels, and no spinning icon.

So that's weird, because I haven't done anything else with the host PC.

I guess I will wait and see if it continues error free.

I am mainly doing this to provide a better experience for my wife. I currently use the Primes with NextPVR as a backend and Kodi as a front end. I generally have no issue with that, but I have tried multiple setups with Kodi (PC, android box, Raspberry Pi 3 and 4) on the TV my wife mainly watches, but it just is not reliable. So, I have a Fire Stick 4k on order to try with Channels...we'll see how that goes.

Okay, let us know. Submit diagnostics after any issue and we should be able to see what's going on.

Okay...after getting home, I tried things again.
Concerning the playback of a recording:
On Win 10, still the same thing I described above, plays a few minutes and then goes to the poster with play button. Note: this is on the same PC where Channels DVR is installed.
On Phone (just on home wifi): plays a little while and then just freezes (does not go to poster...really thought it did, last night). I uploaded diagnostics as requested.
On Phone (just on mobile data): seems to be playing fine, as it did earlier today.

On the dvr: click and hold the Check For Update button, then after the update check the "New Transcoder" checkbox at the bottom of the page.

What kind of Wi-Fi router are you using? Is the windows PC on Wi-Fi or wired?

Okay, I did as you instructed and I am currently watching one recording on the PC and the other recording on the phone, in wi-fi only mode. Both have been playing fine for several minutes without an issue.

My router is a Linksys EA8500 Max-Stream AC2600 MU-MIMO Gigabit WiFi Router.
The PC is wired to the router.
