Not getting 5.1 or Atmos via Sonos for MKV Blu-Ray rips

I have ripped my blu-ray collection and have been watching via Plex and an Nvidia shield to a TV with sonos system. Works great -- full 5.1/7.1 and Atmos support as reported by Sonos app (and it sounds great). I'm testing out a switch to Channels. Content recorded via HD Home Run is being replayed as 5.1 in Channels. All good.

However, the straight-from blu-ray MKV files (via MakeMKV) which are either 5.1 or Atmos play back only as Dolby 2.1. I can find no Channels setting which helps.

Again, almost certain my TV/Sonos is configured correctly (using HDMI Arc, with passthrough) as I have no issues with Plex/Shield playing the same content files as wanted.

Is this a Channles limitation? I'd prefer not to have to re-process all of the content. Any suggestions?

Thanks,
David.

Channels on Android does not passthrough Atmos yet. DD+ should work tho.

Thanks for the response. I was only getting 2.1 output, not even 5.1. But either way, sad (or perhaps disappointing) to hear no Atmos passthrough as yet. Aside from recording and playback of OTA content, I really wanted to handle it and 4K/Atmos content via the same app. Ah well, I'll keep monitoring this and try again in the future.

Check if Settings > Playback > Advanced > Surround Sound is enabled

What do the player stats show when playing 5.1
