Nvidia Shield DVR App log repeating error

Hi. I have been testing the Channels DVR on my Shield off and on for the past few days but more heavily today. I am using the Pro model from 2015 with a 8 TB external HDD attached.

I was looking at the log tonight and noticed a repeating error that may not be anything but I wanted to bring it to you guys attention in case it is. The performance of the DVR doesn’t seem affected, although I haven’t yet watched any of the recordings from tonight.

The repeating line is:
“2018/03/29 20:39:36 [DVR] Commercial detection finished with 10 markers.
WARNING: linker: /data/data/com.getchannels.dvr/files/channels-dvr/2018.03.29.0230/ffmpeg: unsupported flags DT_FLAGS_1=0x8000000
2018/03/29 20:43:26 [ERR] Could not read netlink: read: no buffer space available”

I can provide the entire log if you need it but the above line is the only error message I see in the log. Everything else looks to be normal.

Let me know if you need anything else.

Thanks for reporting this!

I would advise restarting the DVR server, by opening the DVR app on the SHIELD and using it to stop and start the server software. The errors should then stop. Let me know if they appear again.

How often is the “Could not read netlink: read: no buffer space available” error repeating?

Thanks for the quick response!

I have recordings going until 11:00 tonight. After the last one finishes I can do a restart and see if the error message goes away.

The error seems to repeat very often. It seems like it triggers mostly after a recording is complete and comskip starts (just a guess on my part based on the timeline of it). But I have completed about 4 recordings tonight.

I started scrolling up the log to earlier after you asked the question and I see other errors as well. Here are some examples:

Oh okay. It’s not happening super often. I’ll fix this for the next build. No need to restart.

Okay, cool. Thanks!
