Offline downloads on Fire Tablets?

I just got a new Fire Tablet and was surprised to see that the offline downloads ability that is on iOS is not available on on the Fire Tablet Channels app?

There is plenty of space available to download and also has expandable SD card storage as well. I would like to see this feature on Fire Tablet since its a much cheaper option than iPads.

I only bought this device to use for streaming on flights and I had planned to use the offline download capability regularly and disappointed its not there.

Offline Downloads have not come to android yet, but we're working on it.

@cali41 You could still for the time being taking your micro SD card and pull recordings onto that and play them through a media player on the Fire Tablet. Atleast until the feature comes available.

Great news! thank you. Any idea when it might be available? Was thinking of returning this tablet but now I'll hang onto it.

I don't know if this is in your design, but it would really be helpful to me if you could start playing a show while it is in the process of downloading. That way, when I did not have enough bandwidth to live stream, I could start a show downloading, wait 10 minutes and then start watching it.
