How is a show known to be new or not? I have a season pass for NCIS and it works fine when recording on channel 10.1 (CBS) in my area but it looks like older season are not being shown on paramount channel 6022 but being recording as new and the show is 10 years old. I assume paramount is tagging as new which is causing the issue. Is there a way to set up a season pass for only channel 10.1 and not for the guide globally? I don't want any old recordings but only the "real" ones that are new.
In the web UI, go to DVR > Passes. From there you can modify a pass to either record from a specific channel, or to limit with other rules ("SeasonNumber > 12", for example).

I noticed that too have a lot of NCIS recorded in Paramount as new.

the above worked. there isn't any new NCIS coming up to confirm it will recored. so, i'll have to monitor it ot make sure.
I added Channel != 6022 to my pass.
that would work too..I actually tried to do the channel = 10.1 but it wouldn't allow it because there was no episodes? seems odd but ok. so I just did it on the main screen. But != sounds like a better solution. I might change mine.
I prefer the != so when I move I don't have to go fix everything I set to a specific channel.
