On my ONN 4K Pro, the Shortcuts (blue, red, green, yellow buttons) don't work for me via keyboard shortcuts. F1, F2, and F4 don't work at all, and for some reason F3 launches Netflix(?).
I'm trying to set this up using a Flirc, hence the keyboard shortcuts. They don't work via IR remote or with a keyboard plugged directly into the ONN USB port.
If it doesn't work with a physical keyboard, then it sounds like the device is missing drivers or intentionally crippled. Have you tried using the USB keyboard with other apps successfully?
Good point! I have not tried using the keyboard in other apps on the ONN. Pretty basic troubleshooting that I ignorantly neglected to do.
Will do that tonight and report back!
Okay, I had a few minutes when I went home for lunch to do some quick testing.
The keyboard, specifically the Function keys, do NOT work in other apps on the ONN box but work perfectly in Channels and Stremio on my Shield.
Did a bit more Googling and saw that turning off Developer Mode may help...I don't hold out much hope for that but will try it tonight.
Tried turning off Developer Mode, still no joy so I caved and ordered another Shield.
I believe the Onn 4K Pro traps the function keys at the system level and will launch apps depending on what you have installed. For me, F2 does nothing, F3 launches Amazon Prime Video, F4 launches Google Play Store, and F1 launches YouTube.

I was wrong in the OP, it's F2 that launches Netflix on my ONN box, and F4 does indeed launch the Play Store. No Amazon Prime installed, although I do have YouTube installed and F1 does nothing for me.
I don't subscribe to Netflix, so makes sense that F2 does nothing for me. Can't explain the YouTube difference. Are you using SmartTube instead of the 'official' YouTube?
I have both SmartTube and YouTube installed. But you'd think a YouTube shortcut would still open YouTube.
