So verizon won't give me a cablecard but optimum says they still give them out. I am wondering if there is anyone out there who can tell me what channels have drm in nassau county ny. I know this is a regional issue and I am just interested in that location. thanks.
edit: is the optimum app compatible with adbtuner just in case of drm on cablecard and is there something like project one click for it?
I don't know any DRM'd channels other than maybe the Premium ones but most of the cable providers have DRM'd that for centuries. It doesn't really affect you unless you want them
I have no clue about the optinum app. You'll have to test it out yourself. If it doesn't work than using the apps directly is an option
If you had FIOS, then the same channels that had DRM on FIOS will have DRM on Optimum. This is because it's the sources that tell the cable companies what to encrypt.
Switching from FIOS to Optimum should be simple. Delete the source, turn off your HDHomeRun Prime and install the new cable card. Power on your HDHomeRun Prime and web into your HDHomeRun Prime. Follow Optimum instructions to enable the cable card. Then create the new source in Channels DVR.
I wonder how long Optimum will provide cable cards.
