Option to confine series pass to original channel

A request from the UK:

Can we please have a DVR "Series Pass" option to confine the series pass to record stuff from ONLY from the channel where it was created please, even when "all episodes" is selected? Also allow one to create another pass for the same program name on a different TV station, if one wants those as well.

I'm trying to create a series pass for "Emmerdale" for the lady of the house for ITV1 HD episodes. It is on every evening . It seems not to set things up to record new episodes, unless you select "All Episodes", and then it records all old episodes showing on ITV3 and elsewhere. I just want it to record them from ITV 1 HD and no where else. So include "this channel only" or something in the pass options please.

Currently when different channels show the same shows (but different seasons/series) it records all of them if "All episodes" is enabled. I just want it to record those on the channel I created the pass for, like "series link" does on uk systems. I want to create a separate pass for other channels if I want those as well.

Also why doesn't it record those scheduled in the guide from ITV1 HD, when "new episodes" is set up in the pass? Because right now it does not. There seems to be an issue here.

Thanks.

You can specify the Channel for the Pass using the Web Server .. but unfortunately you cannot from the Client.

Thanks. I never spotted that. I'm new and still on the trial.

Given it's available there, can't it be added to the client user interface as (for example) channel "103" or "any" option?

I still think there's a bug as "new episodes" on channel 103 were not recorded, or scheduled.

It's a shame because the system is brilliant but tarnished with a few minor gremlins for UK folks like me who are used to Sky Q, Sky Plus and Freeview play DVR systems.

if the airing isn't tagged as "New" in the guide data, it's not considered a candidate for a pass that records only New episodes.

We have an opposite problem in the U.S. when a syndicated show gets picked up by a network and every episode is tagged as "New" (assume it's because it's new to that network).

Shaunhw, were you able to resolve this problem succesfully as I am now experimenting with this for my better half, to be able to give up Sky as well.
She won't want to be logging on to the server to play around with season passes, when all she needed to do was press "R" on the Sky remote!

No, But I'd still like to see the feature added. I'm not really sure if I'll be renewing next year, guven they've dropped support for the Rasberry PI image. I'd have a lot of fiddling around to do at some point to keep using the PI which has worked very well. I don't want to use Windows for this job.
It's simply not stable enough IMHO.

The default should be to record on only the channel chosen when creating the pass. That's how dedicated DVR devices work isn't it?

You're probably aware you can still use the Linux build on the Pi, but even if you switch to a mini PC, installing Linux instead of Windows is a breeze. I have 2 of them running Linux and they run without issues.
