Is there a setting anywhere to disable swiping for fast forward and rewind? I watch in bed on my iPad, and with the way the bezels are so thin now, I find myself inadvertently jumping forward and back with some frequency. Until recently, I couldn’t figure out what was going on, until I realized this feature was there. Now I get paranoid when I’m watching, and am super careful how I hold my device. Or, does the OS allow the touch target to not include the area too close to the edge of the screen?
There is not, but we can look at it. It seems reasonable
The latest TestFlight beta now has a setting for this. Settings > Playback > Seek Gestures.
The next server pre-release will have this available as well as a Server Side Setting.
