Option to replace an SD episode with HTDV version

My local PBS station tends to broadcast (on 12.2) SD versions of shows like This Old House before the HDTV version airs (on 12.1) later that day or later in the week.

I know all about setting the advanced Tags CONTAINS HDTV option to only record the HD version, and that works. But I think it would be really nice if an episode of any show you have a Pass for could be replaced at any time if a higher definition version gets broadcast at a later time. I can see this as being an advanced option to "Re-record and replace show if HD version is aired later."

This philosophy should also be applied to the "quality" of an interrupted show recording. If the recording was interrupted for some reason, bad signal, bad weather, user error... then replace that recording in the future with another recording if the same episode is aired again.

In other words, don't give up after the first episode is recorded. Keep looking for a chance to improve the quality with a replacement recording.

I would love this. I dont do it as much but there was a time when I would recordwhole series that was airing OTA. I had a mix of SD and HD as sometimes I was in the middle of watching but I would love there to be an option of "Record in SD" and "Overwrite with HD" when available
