OTA Channel via M3U showing wrong icon and guide data in Channels

(Cross posted on Reddit get channels) I will try to put this in context.

I have two HDHR locations with channels and use M3U from the remote instance to bring in a few channels, both OTA and TVE to the main location.

Both OTA instances have only one thing in common in that they both have a channel 10.1 where one is NBC at the remote location and one is CBS locally. Due to signal strength issues and being further away than a much closer CBS station, the CBS 10.1 instance is blocked in both the HDHR software and Channels so it should in theory, never show up in a guide.

However, something has now changed without my interaction. A couple of days ago, the NBC 10.1 instance via M3U shows a CBS icon and guide data from the blocked channel but when I actually tune to the channel from the guide, it is the expected signal from NBC at the remote location.

A couple other tidbits. When selecting any channel collection from the list at the top of the channel guide (ALL, HD, Favorites, etc.) the "phantom" CBS 10.1 channel icon and guide data show in all of them EXCEPT a channel collection I built to show me a sub section of channels from the main, local guide (locals and a few sports channels via TVE that doesn't include any of the "local" TVE channels but does contain a few sports channels via TVE. But when I try to build a remote channel collection from the M3U list and add the channels, they all appear correct showing the NBC icon as it's added and in the build list at the top but then when I scroll down to the "preview" list, not only are the channels in the incorrect order as above but the CBS icon shows in it's place. BUT, if I select each source separately from the sources list, the phantom channel doesn't appear, which is what I would expect and the channel shows it's blocked on the client software when I "manage sources".

When I first noticed this and thought it might just be an issue with my M3U channel collection from the remote location, I first deleted the M3U Channel collection I had been using along with deleting the remote custom channels list from the source list. Rebooted the Channels Server, verified that it was now gone then added both the custom channels list and channel collection back but the same thing is happening, only now I have TWO entries in the guide showing the right channel number but wrong icon and guide data.

SO, any suggestions on how to resolve this issue without blowing out the entire install and starting over? This one has me stumped. Thanks in advance for any assistance.

When it comes to channel collections with overlapping numbers channels uses the source with the higher priority (higher up under the sources tab). Choose your source priority and delete and recreate guide database.

I would recommend using a text based m3u so you can change the channel numbers of conflicting numbers. Channels doesn’t handle duplicate numbers well so just removing any conflicts like this would be extremely beneficial. Here is an example of a text base, change the variables to your channels, change 10710XXX to the id of the Hdhomerun. Where 4.1 is the channel number in the Hdhomerun, the below example changes remote channel 4.1 to 6.1. Assign guide data through the gear under the m3u source with zip code. Then assign the channels guide data to to 6.1 via manage lineup.
