OTA HDHomerun Flex 4k - All Stations Disappear

Using Channels on Win 11 DVR server - Shield Pro - Channels 9.1.1. I upgraded to a HD Homerun Flex 4K for the additional tuners.
Since the upgrade intermittently the OTA stations disappear from the guide and in the sources HD Homerun it shows zero channels. re-scanning from the Shield client brings them back. Sometimes they will return on their own. They are available from the Win 11 interface and are available from my Apple 4K client.

The device shows in the Sources and is enabled but the channels are missing until re-scanning.
If I disable the HD Homerun in the sources exit Channels and re-enable the HD Homerun the channels will be back.
I have re-installed the old 2 tuner Homerun and re-installed the 4 tuner Homerun with the same result.

HD Homerun Flex 4K has the latest firmware, 20230303.

I do periodically see a message quickly flash on the screen "Lost Connection"
Any ideas?

Contact SiliconDust. I had a unit replaced for free for a very similar issue.

Wiggle the coax connector in the back. Maybe it needs to be cut off, and a new one installed on the coax coming from the antenna

If it's OTA I am periodically amazed at how touchy the connection from my antenna to my unit is. I get stations from Cincinnati and Dayton all very strongly, but occasionally they all go to crap and I end up following the cable from the antenna's amp to the HDHR and make sure it isn't loose, etc.

It's so touchy it almost has to be RF interference from some device on my home theater and accompanying rat's nest of cables. Generally just moving the cables fixes it. Last year I did have a lightning strike come in the cable internet line and took out my modem and a couple switches along with the Flex 4K and oddly, only the ethernet port on my Nvidia Shield Pro.

Silicondust was pretty quick to cross-ship a refurb unit under warranty.

Check to see if your coax is still the OLD Rg-59 stuff. That has a very small diameter center stinger wire, which might cause the HDHR's female connector not to be able to grab it tight enough.

Looking further this morning it appears that just the Shield is affected by the loss of the all scanned stations.

I have scheduled recordings that appear to have recorded properly even though they don't show in the guide of the shield. When the stations have been lost in the Shield they show in the DVR server, in the HDHR app and my Apple 4k client so it seems like it is somehow related to the just the Shield and only after upgrading to the 4 tuner Flex for the original 2 tuner HDHR.

I have tried to simulate the loss of OTA scanned channels by disconnecting the network cable to the HDHR and disconnecting the coax cable and the scanned channels remain.

It has me stumped, the scanned channels just disappear on the Shield but are accessible to other clients on my network and will even record scheduled programs.
A reboot of the Shield will bring them back or re-scanning will too.

I thought about doing a restore of the Shield to factory and reinstalling the Channels client but that is a lot of work. My old HDHR 2 truer has an older version of firmware so I thought about if there is an undiscovered bug in the latest HDHR firmware

The HDHR shows in the Sources menu and shows as enabled but shows zero channels available.

Intermittent issues on your network between the shield and HDHR.

Is this WiFi? Maybe a bad cable?

It is wired to a Netgear switch, the same switch as the Shield is connected to. I will try a new cable.

Interesting that it does not do it using the previous HDHR 2 channel.

It is a new HDHR 4 tuner unit only weeks old, I wonder if it an issue with the network circuit on the unit...
Thank you again for your assistance

I just noticed that "Requesting GET http://192.168.1.21" is the old HDHR 2 tuner IP address and not on the network at that time and http://192.168.1.52 is the new HDHR Flex 4 tuner which was on the network and displayed in the sources of the Shield app.

Update...

For some reason the HRHD Flex 4 tuner (.51) was being intermittently mis-identified with the old HDHD IP address (.21)
I reserved the .21 IP address in my router with the HDHR Flex 4 tuner MAC address and made sure it was correct in the server and the client.
It has been functioning correctly since.

TMM1, Thank you for the help
