Padding and Tuner Overlap

I have a HDHomeRun Quatro with 4 tuners. Lets say I put 1 minute of padding both before and after every recording.

All 4 tuners are recording 8-9pm. Then there are 4 shows scheduled at 9-10pm.

What happens in these two scenarios?

  1. The same 4 tuners are used for the 9-10pm recordings

  2. Four different tuners are used

How does Channels handle the overlap because of padding?

Let me try this again.

I know in scenario 1 the same tuners are used, but

  1. Do the shows have the padding
  2. Does the recording stop at the scheduled time
  3. Does the next show start recording 1 minute late

How does Channels handle the overlap?

And then what happens with scenario 2?

If the second recordings are on the same channels as the first recordings, then the same tuners are used. The recordings will all contain the expected padding.

If any of the second recordings are on a different channel than the first recording, then it will start late, after one of the first recordings finish, including the padding.
