Can I set a padding for all content? I’m noticing shows are cutting off the last 30 sec
Look at the DVR web page, under DVR Settings
The above is to set default for your “future” setups/passes/one-offs.
You can edit padding on previous passes: DVR>Passes>downarrow>Edit. Changing the value here will apply to each show (pass) that is already on the schedule. Plus any future matches.
Note: Setting padding can sometimes cause a tuner to be not available for the next round of back to back shows (unless on same channel). Be sure to test out so you understand how it works.
Rather not have to do that for each show. Thinking the delay is because of the transcoding from the original feed.
Start/End time is based on broadcaster…nothing to do with transcoding. You might also want to verify that your NAS clock is accurate. Do all of your shows that end 30 sec late also start 30 sec late? Probably clock.
In my setup, I only have 1 show that the broadcast extends beyond the guide “end time”. As I have only one tuner, I have to be very careful with padding when setting up 3 back to back recordings on different channels. My default padding is 0/0.
There have been times in the past, that I had to setup that 8pm show (cable channel, not national) to be recorded on the second showing (using advanced pass: Channel#/Time/End Padding 30sec) in order to manage my 3 tuner Prime effectively and not miss recordings due to padding.
It’s different for Premium tv which takes the satellite feed and transcodes it to mp4. Don’t have issues with OTA. I found the default setting on the main DVR page, so I don’t have to go into each show.
OK. Sorry I don’t have any experience with the new HDHR Premium TV offering.
To re-iterate…IF you have already setup passes, the Default Setting for Padding on the main DVR web ui page WILL NOT reset padding for those passes.
Either edit each one or delete them. Then resetup each with the Default setting to your requirements.
Ok, got it.
