Paramount Plus Stream Links on Google TV don't launch the app

I've done a bunch of reading about streamlinks and how they work. Apparently there are two ways the app is linked to the content of the streamlink on Android TV boxes:

  • The manifest of the app configures the OS to launch the app
  • The media player launches the app

As the first method appears broken for the Paramount Plus app, can the Channels Developers launch he app when watch is clicked?

What is in the documentation does not work:

I followed a long thread about other apps not launching and it appears the developers have taken the second approach.

hey morris- i believe Paramount+ is working at least for FruitDeepLinks sports links... where are you seeing this error and i could help diagnose

I get the same error using a Chromecast with Google TV while running the Channels DVR app. It happens for both TV Shows and Movies. When I press the watch button I get the message "You don't have an app to do this." The Paramount Plus app is installed and works. This is the contents of on the the streamlink files:

I’m confused. I’ve been using Streamlinks to watch Paramount Plus stuff without issue on all of my FireTV's. Is this just an issue with Chromcast?

I don't have a fire tv to test with. Dose the link I posted work on your fire tv? Can you post a stream link that is working for you? I'll try it on the Chromecast

This is a PP stream link that I copied from SLM Manager (v2025.08.27.1520).

Hi James,

I have the same issue with the link you provided. My Channels DVR app is ver 4.9.4. Under the version it states "Live TV on your Android TV".

Do you have the same version and does it have the same under the version?
