My 2nd source is an M3U playlist and the EPG data for that only seems to extend out about 12 hours. I have changed the guide data refresh to 3 hours so that at the very least it is pulling in new data as often as possible. The only pass I have setup right now is Pardon the Interruption. It airs at 5:30pm EST M-F on ESPN. Because of the 12 hour limit on my M3U guide data, the "Passes" feature cannot see when the next episode is airing 24 hours later.

How often does it scan the guide for the next airing?

My Impression is every time you refresh the guide. I would not worry about it if refreshing every 3 hours.

Just to show you how much you do not need to worry, I have set up passes for various shows that air on m3u stations that are only the Title of the show and making sure they have a Season number:

When episodes I don't have happen to be added to the schedule, even if it is 10 minutes into the future, they get added to the schedule and record with no issue.

Something else you could do instead since it seems like you are doing something odd for TVE stations, if you exclude the XMLTV Guide Data (you might have to re-create the source and not fill it in) ...

... then you can manually select what each channel is with the + button ...

... change the gear icon to Search All Lineups ...

... and find and select the station.

This will give you the full Gracenote guide for the entire 2 week timespan of that station.
