Personal media - rename input paths and rescan

Hello folks,

I am FINALLY migrating my channels server running on a ancient 2010 mac mini to an M4 mac mini. So exciting! I got it for $500 on amazon with 5% discover cash back, although I have to wait a few weeks for delivery.

Im pretty confident with the server migration portion and with the main channels library locations with the new machine.

However, for a variety of reasons I MAY want to keep my personal media libraries, currently residing on a bunch of local attached external drives, on my existing old machine and access these personal media files via file sharing over my local network.

For these personal media files, Is there a method to change these paths besides deleting and adding back each one.

Unless you can make the absolute path look the same on your new server, you'll have to Remove and re-Import them all.

i.e. Channels DVR will be looking for this directory path
/Volumes/BACKUP/PLEXstorage/Music-Video/Peter Gabriel

On Windows, one could use a directory symlink to make the required directory path and point to an SMB share. Not sure if you could do that on a Mac.

There was talk from one of the developers that they would like to be able to rename the import paths, but haven't seen or heard anything since.
