Personal Movie Library Database - Duplicate Listings

Something odd started recently.

-I have been replacing older prints of movies on my server with newer ones and deleting the old ones.

-I used to run the "Prune Deleted", and it would remove the older title, that worked fine, but not in this case.

-When sorted 'Alphabetically' there are two posters of the same exact movie.

-On the duplicate titles it DOES show it going to the same exact path in the "View Details"

-I have tried deleting one of the duplicates, however it deletes both of them.

Any ideas or suggestions? I have tried everything I could think of, there are over 30 titles now with duplicates, I rather not have to delete, prune, and have to re-add them at this point.

Thanks in advance.

From inside Channels DVR?
Did you empty the Trash on Channels DVR?
Do you have import directories setup?

Yup, did all that.

The thing is that if you delete something from inside Channels DVR, you don't need to run "Prune Deleted". So the fact that you had to do it in order to remove the old title seems to indicate that you didn't delete the old one from Channels, but instead deleted the file manually on the disk, and then the prune command took care of removing the title from the Channels database.

Please correct me if I am wrong.

It's always better to let Channels handle the removal of a title by deleting it using the Channels interface. That will move the title from the library to the trash, and then when the trash is cleared, the associated file is automatically deleted from the disk.

It seems in your case that there is some type of synchronization issue between Channels and activity on the disk. Not sure.

Unfortunately, I don't have a solution to offer in order to clean up your Channels library.
At this point, you probably want to submit diagnostics to the developers.
