I would love to see some Philips Hue integration with Channels on ATV.
What kind of integration?
Honestly, I’m not sure, I have a couple of recessed lights with hue bulbs above my TV; maybe have them blink purple when I open the app or when I pause or mute it? Orange when an update is available?
Sounds like a waste of time if you ask me, an ambilight solution would be cool if the app was able to analyze the on screen colors but that’s still just a waste of development resources for a two man team
How about turning the lights off when you open the app to watch TV and turn them back on when you exit it?
Try using a Logitech Harmony remote. I have the Phillips Hue light which lower when the Apple TV is turned on and up when it’s off. This is based on profiles. If you’re looking for dynamic ambient lighting have a look at dream screen TV

I enjoy Hue integration via a channel on plex. When I turn on a show or movie I have it dim the lights to a preset level. If I pause the lights come back up to another level so I can walk around without running into things. I disagree that it is a waste of time but would make it a low priority over DVR and other features.
