Hi

I’ve had channels running on a pi 4 for a while and working well, if I use a small screen on the pi would it display the tv channels, sorry for daft question, just wondering if possible to display any info from channels direct on raspberry pinscreen

No, the operating system and software that the pi runs in order to run Channels DVR Server is headless, which means there’s no user interface. It’s all command line.

Hooking a display to it would not accomplish anything.
