PiP is NOT PiP! (not Channels fault)

this is more of a rant than anything else. but i absolutely deplore the term PiP as it is applied to Apple's feature "PiP".
IT IS NOT TRUE PiP!!!!
PiP for decades has been embedding one VIDEO inside of another. All Apple is doing is minimizing the video being watched. a better name for this feature would have been "Mini Player".
don't get me wrong, the feature itself IS useful. the name is awful, and takes a feature name once intended for one function for decades and makes it mean something completely different.
when i ask for PiP, i'm asking for the ability to watch TWO SOURCES at one time, not just watching a single source in a smaller window.
as the title of this post suggests, THIS IS NOT CHANNELS fault.
as powerful as our devices are these days, and as large as our screens are (mine 4K HDR 70"), it drives me nuts that our TVs and devices these days don't have true PiP like my 1980s 23" Sony CRT did.
my TV could PiP four sources at 35" each in a 2x2 layout, but unfortunately no dice.

i love Channels. again i'm not complaining about them, their app, and not blaming them for Apple naming this feature inappropriately.

have a great day!!!
