Play a virtual channel from a raspberry pi

Kind of a weird one…

So I made a little old school looking tv box (powered by a raspberry pi connected to a small hdmi display) that I use as a little kitchen display dashboard (calendar, weather, etc).

I’d really like to turn this into a Christmas decoration for the holidays that will just play a virtual channel of holiday move and tv classics, ideally powered by a virtual channel in channels.

Are there any options where I can make this possible natively on a pi (so basically, a Linux machine)? I know there’s no native Linux client and you can’t do virtual channels through the web interface.

Unfortunately no. Virtual Channels are a feature of the client. Nothing else can play them back.

Have a look at disque tv. Not as user friendly, but much more powerful than the built in virtual channels. And can be played back on any device when you bring the stream back into channels
