Play to your TV not working for me

I have play to your TV turned on (android phone). Used to be I would select a show and given the option to cast it to my TV. I no longer get that. It just plays on my phone.

Both devices are on the same network.

Phone is a pixel 7.

Any ideas?

Any solution for this? I am having the same issue after switching to a Galaxy S23+

Would there be any other settings that need to be changed to get this to work? It worked briefly with my new phone. However after connecring to another Wifi netowork when I wasn't home then coming back and connecring to my home network I can not get this to work again. Rebooted my router and made sure everything was setup correctly. Casting from my phone using other apps works fine. Not sure why this is not working with the new phone when it worked perfectly on the old one.

On my Android phone, when I connect my phone to the 5GHz wifi, Play to TV does not work at all. When I connect it to my 2.4GHz wifi, Play to TV will give me a list of devices and start the video, but only if the Channels DVR app is already running.

Thanks for the info. I connected to the 2.4 ghz band on my router. However still no luck with the "Play to Your TV". Video just plays on my phone and gives no option to select another device like it used to.

The only devices that show up are my Firestick Maxs. All my Google devices used to show up until about a year ago. I don't really ever use this feature so I just ignored it.
