Playback failed when copying to new HDD

I purchased a new solid state hdd to be my primary hdd for my Shield Pro server and copied over all of the DVR files. The files appear in the DVR Library UI but when I click on them to play from my Apple TV client, it doesn't play any of the old recordings. All new recordings work very well.
When I try playing those same older recordings from my android phone client, it says Playback Failed.
Did I skip a step when I copied over the recordings from one hard drive to the new one?

Thanks,
Seth

You must have put them in the wrong directory, or the permissions are wrong.

What does the dvr log show?

you would have had to put the old recordings in the directory as the new ones. If you don't, which is ok, you have to add that directory under DVR Database. You can also add the directory under local content but then all our thumbnails will be dead and you will have duplicate new ones. So you have to get rid of the old ones. This is what I did, Better to add directory under DVR database.

The log shows

2021/12/26 20:39:00.971411 [ERR] Recording 1631 (TV/The 95th Annual Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade/The 95th Annual Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade 2021-11-25-0913.mpg) missing: stat /storage/A499-CB0B/NVIDIA_SHIELD/DVR/TV/The 95th Annual Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade/The 95th Annual Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade 2021-11-25-0913.mpg: no such file or directory

And what is the actual path where you put that file?

Is there a way to know without disconnecting the hdd from the Shield?

I moved all the old recordings that I copied into a separate directory and added that folder. But I'm still getting the Playback Failed message. The log seems to be looking in the old directory, is there a way to refresh the library?

What folder exactly did you add and where? Under additional storage? Can you screenshot what it looks like?

Did you make a TV and Movies folder in that new location and put the stuff there?

I hooked up my external hard drive to my win10 laptop and moved the mpg recordings that weren't being recognized into a new folder also on the hard drive.
The "DVR" folder is the directory I use for Channels DVR. I created the "COPIED" folder to store the older mpgs that I can't play. Then I added the "COPIED" folder under the Local Content area under Tv sources.
This didn't work obviously. I then removed the "COPIED"folder but all the old video thumbnails etc are still there, pointing at the old location.

What's the right way to do this? Also, is there a way to do all this without having to physically disconnect the hard drive from my Shield server? I mean, is there a way to access it through the network?
