Playing from iPhone or iPad via HDMI not working in 7.1.0

Yesterday I updated to v. 7.1.0. After doing so, I can no longer play Channels content to a TV via my Apple USB-C HDMI adapter to a TV. What I see on the TV is a mirror of what is on the device (mostly black screen with a TV icon and the normal Channels controls) and the sound from the playing video. Video is plays as expected through the Apple TV app, Netflix app, etc, but not Channels. Two days ago, before updated to 7.1.0, video played as expected.

Is this an issues with the latest Channels app, or is something else going on with both my iPhone and iPad?

Same issue?

Can confirm this behavior is new and happens with iPad (lightning to HDMI) as well as iPhone (USB-C to HDMI) adapters. I am not certain when this started as I only use the hdmi adapters when traveling and I use pre-release software but it is reproducible and apps other than Channels that worked previously continue to do so (e.g., Hulu).

Sounds like it. At least I know it’s not just me. Haven’t heard from the devs about it yet.

I think this change wasn’t limited to HDMI. I’m experiencing the same symptom when relying on AirPlay mirroring. This used to work fine and it works with PIP, just not full-screen. Quite strange…

Thanks! Updated and now AirPlay is working from my iPad to this same hotel TV, a Samsung. Much appreciated.

Same issue just started with my iPhone hdmi adapter to my small back room tv. How do I download the latest version when the Apple App Store says I have the latest and it doesn’t work?

I’m using Channels for HD Homerun. Is this update applicable and if so, where can I get this update?

I’ve installed Testflight to hopefully gain access to this update, but will need to get an invite code to do so. Is that something you can help me with?

I was able to use VLC instead of channels to play the HD Homerun channels to my tv using the hdmi adapter. Got tired waiting for any resolution to this inexcusable update failure.
