In the beta right now there is a new feature which changes navigation for TV episodes. Previously, when you navigated to TV recordings, the latest episode would be selected and you could switch between episodes.

Now, this new feature is default selected. It says either "Next" or "Continue" and tries to predict what you want to do. My issue is that it's almost always wrong and what it predicts is not what I want to do. So I have to navigate down first, away from this selection, and then scroll the episodes. So the feature is just a hinderance to my normal flow.

Please consider making this new feature optional so you can toggle it on / off.

Can you describe what it is picking, and what you expect it to pick?

From your screenshot, the episode it is suggesting, is also the latest episode in the list as you had suggested.

I think when you're used to a fundamental thing working in a certain way, and then that changes, it's just not desirable and the new thing should be optional and not forced. It can be an option above for people who want to use it, but right now it's default selected which changes the behavior of the app.

Using the non-beta app, if I had navigated into that TV series, the first element is what would have been selected so the new feature didn't offer anything.

To me the issue with the feature is that it can't accurately predict what I want in every situation. There are times when I'm not going to want the continue the episode I had been watching. There are times when I'm going to want jump forward a few recordings. I know how to get to the episode I want because I've used channels for a while and know how to navigate it. This new feature just gets in the way of that.

For now I've turned off auto updates and I'll just try to stick to the current version of the app forever. Hopefully that works out in the long run.

This is why we provide both and did not remove the list of episodes.

You can both jump right back into where you left off without having to scroll a while, or navigate to the episodes and find what you want to watch.

The old experience is still provided along with the new one. Nothing was taken away.
