Please oh please, no more purple!

Can we just get an option to change the theme to predominately grey or blue? I understand it is a branding thing, but it's just not at all pleasing to the eye on a big screen tv.

It is my only real ask. Please oh please.

Android only. Can't do that with iOS/TVOS.

Devs have expressed 0 interest in changing color. Get used to purple my friend.

SMH. The current scheme is a big detractor. And a few options would be a ridiculously simple feature to add. So, I SMH.

Everything in my house is blue and gray. The purple is not only a nice switch, but it complements all the blue and gray. Keep it purple.

Purple isn't all bad.

I'd pay for a few different themes to be able to change the color.

I like the PURPLE… it’s different, it’s modern and acceptable and separates Channels from everything else. And actually, you cant email Netflix and complain about the ugly red!

For the first time in over a decade, a new M&M color: Meet Purple, who represents 'acceptance' (msn.com)

I am not sure what surprises me more. That a purple M&M did not already exist, or that the term "spokescandy" does exist.

I’d pay double to get a black/dark grey theme tbh…

Edit:

But in all seriousness, would be cool for purple to remain the default theme and then have an addition dark(black) theme with purple accents and then a light(white) theme with purple accents.

Think it would keep the devs happy and keep the app on brand, aswell as keep all the countless people who have posted and commented on the forum for a theme change happy.

I've noticed on several different televisions between me and a friend I hooked up to CHDVR a couple of years ago that the "purple" is hideous as can be on some sets and a bluer, much easier to swallow but still ugly to me, color on his sets.

I spent 30 years in the graphics business on the printing end of it, color is no stranger to me. I calibrate color on my televisions by fiddling by hand and come out pretty darn close to perfect if anyone ever measures (they have). Tempted to wack the colors on my TVs to get the bluer color just for CHDVR, but think about it, how long do you actually spend in the GUI and have to deal with the godawful purple?

Me? Very little. I'm watching the game and rewinding/pausing/fast-forwarding like a madman during my sports events just as I bought this app to do, along with my friend. It's the only way I've been able to do it efficiently since WMC went away, and for that, it's worth the $8/month for me.

I can wait for the dark theme, but it does seem like a trivial feature every big screen television app should have. Perhaps it's an Apple design thing? I know Android used to have strict rules about notification bar icon colors 5-10 years ago for a good reason, perhaps they can only use certain colors or themes to stay in line with Apple's design rules?

I'm Apple illiterate, someone please educate me. :upside_down_face:
