Have you tried HDHomerun? Works PERFECT with channels dvr.
I agree with you about the photos of the shows and want a list. And this is also one of the reasons I really love channels. You can customize what is displayed. I have the "on now" part removed and default to the guide. Channels does offer this type of configuration. This idea might get lost in this thread. you could offer it as a feature request.
