ok thank you
Also, make sure you set the source to MPEG-TS and not HLS and a minimum or 6 hour epg refresh. 3 would be even safer.
Great stuff Bobby V, and as others have said, us Windows people appreciate your efforts.
Question: After installation the first thing I tried was the CDVR web UI TV Guide, and no Pluto channels would play. But, the same channels would play via the CDVR client app. Is inability to get Pluto channels to play via the CDVR Web UI Guide telling me there is something wrong with my installation?
EDIT: PS so far I am using the setup without a Pluto account.
The web UI player on channels is hit or miss on Chrome based browsers, not just for Pluto. As far as not logging in, I think this may be a regional thing because others have said they don't need a login to work.
IF you are using Chrome, try playing it in FireFox. It works there for me.
Yes, I am using Chrome, and using the CDVR web UI was only for testing. I'll proceed with some other tests and defer setting up a Pluto account until I find a good reason.
I'm struggling with getting channels to record BBC News every morning again. I'm pretty sure this is because Pluto is setting the episode info the same for every occurrence and so channels won't record because it thinks it's a dupe. I even have re-record deleted episodes set in the pass and it still won't record it every day.
I wonder if you can append a date and timestamp to each episode on the live channels to work around the problem. I think the old way did something like this because I never had an issue recording BBC News on the old Pluto. Thanks, it's working great otherwise.
I'll look into that tomorrow.
I knew I brought up this issue before, just took me a long time to find the post.
See if the 1.1.4 release fixes the issue.
1.1.4 also fixed the scrambled channel listing in VLC. They now show as they should.
I just pushed another release that adds the New tag to live content. Try 1.1.5 and see if you can record it now. Thanks.
This version as well as 1.1.4 cause my Windows to reject (Unsafe flag) whilst versions 1.1.3 I was able to cirumvent this issue.
Anything I am missing ?
Thanks
Are you talking about when you install it? I have no control over that. Until a certain number of downloads happen, MS will not stop the warning on unsigned installers. Getting it signed costs over $200 a year and I'm not paying that for a project.
I installed v1.1.4 and then upgraded to v1.1.5 today on my Windows 11Pro Beelink server, and I didn't have any issues. The app is unsigned though, so it's possible your security settings are too tight. Or it's just that unsigned issue that you can ignore.
Not missing but having http://www.virustotal.com/ as a backup to your protection isn't a bad idea. Beware there are a few vendors they use for checking that see EVERYTHING as malicious.
I also had no issues (besides having to declare the download to be legit) but those lasr 2 versions are not installing... ill dig more into windows security ...
Thanks
@DVR_FUN Were you using Edge browser? They have a weird security warning on download that regular Chrome does not have.
Thanks - I actually went ahead and disabled the Windows 'Smart App Control' to Off and all went smoothly. I run now 1.1.5.
I use Edge as Browser
Just loaded it up and looks good, BBC News scheduled tomorrow morning!
