PNG files as collection image

I've just created a movie collection for James Bond films and found a 007 logo image online. It is a PNG file with a transparent background with the 007 in black.

This image does not work well on a device in dark mode because the content of the image is black and the channels background is dark.

It would probably be better for images with a transparency to have a white background placed behind them. Maybe as an option?

It is also unfortunate how the image is cropped. It would be nice to have a scale to fit option as well.

Otherwise, I'm so pleased to have movie collections now. Movie franchises like James Bond, were crying out for this feature. Even better that they can populate with a custom search / filter argument.

Transparent images aren't a good idea for how Collection images are used. A 16x9 aspect image is suggested in the Collection editor as this is the way they're presented in.

You can find some good 007 collection images to use here:

Thanks for the link, and having used one, I understand that images with transparency aren’t working well.

My suggestion was that a minor bit of image processing within channels that adds a white background would avoid many others having such an issue. I presume that most of your customers aren’t active here or on discord, so trying to make features as robust as possible without requiring users to edit and then upload images to a publicly hosted website would be a good idea.
