My LG’s (OLED and LCD) are running WebOS 3.0.

LG with WebOS 2.0.

I added a second poll to the top with some Smart TV options. If there are ones missing, let me know and I will add them.

Looks like when I added the second poll, it wiped out the existing results from the first one :slightly_frowning_face:

Ironic that you had to ā€œrepostā€ for 1st survey. Seeing Kodi on your list prompted my response:

Although I haven’t used Kodi in a long time, earlier today I added Kodi to our Nvidia Shield. I had forgotten how well Kodi handles ffd/rew. Plex is great for UI, but playback options are miserable.

Now, if I can just get Kodi to (library) load more than 5 movies from the shield’s removable storage, I’ll be all set to test out playback on recordings created by Channels DVR running on the Shield.

(Note: can navigate to a list of all recordings, however it is a flat file list by title. But still want a bit of that UI bling…)

Update:

Added a network share with >400 movies, now I have a grand total of 16 movies on the Kodi ā€œMoviesā€ library.

Obviously, there is a glitch, either in my setup or Kodi. As Kodi was just updated, I tend to think that this anomaly may be due to Kodi install, however I have deleted and re-installed…no change.

Would appreciate anyone else who can do a new add of Kodi on Shield and test also, then post their results.

TIA,
Debbie

I don’t really use Kodi anymore, and have been using MrMC (Kodi fork) on my Apple TV and on my Shield. It has native Plex and Emby support (as well as just adding things like Kodi), so I connect it to the Plex Server on the backend to show all my movies/TV Shows that are in Plex.

For Kodi, there’s an official Plex addon as well, so I’d use that over adding in libraries. I did add some files to Kodi, and it worked just fine (picked up 400+ movies), so it could be your naming scheme.

Tim, thanks for tips and feedback. I’ll try tomorrow. All the movies I’m trying to add are Channels recordings.

Ah, I don’t have any Channels movie recordings, mine are just from what I buy. I set up to record a few movies while I’m out this morning, so I’ll try when I get back from the theater this afternoon.

It only picked up one of the four movies I recorded today, so it’s not just you.

Looking like naming convention of Channels recordings may be the culprit.

@timstephens24 … Thank you again for tips, testing and confirming.

I’ll be advocating even more for a native Android Channels player :smiling_imp:

Oh, Debbie, don’t distract them with more bunnies. iOS, iOS,iOS.

In good time…

But you are right … iOS is definitely the most important.

We might be able to drop NFO files to help kodi recognize movies: http://kodi.wiki/view/NFO_files/Movies

The naming convention Kodi is accepting is ā€œTitle (YYYY)ā€

Currently, the trailing date/time on Channels recordings (at least for movies) appears to be causing the non add. Deja vu … MCEBuddy?

+1 for an Android TV Channels app!

+1 for an Android TV Channels app!

+1 for an Android TV Channels app! With the shield now able to act as the server, this would make an amazing addition! and would also help cut down the cost of purchasing more equipment, thus adding to more customers.

+1 For Android Tv app or even just a shell of an app with Live Channels instructions, either way Live Channels integration is what I’d like to see
