Hi, I’m using the DVR engine on a QNAP 251+ and trying to watch recordings via the web interface on Chrome mobile on Android (still trying to decide on which hardware client to buy for TV so just testing things out) and HD recordings are playing very poorly and look really corrupted and pixelated. Though the same file plays perfectly fine through Plex or VLC. This is UK Freeview I’m recording.
So is playing back of recordings on Chrome mobile supported at all or is there something wrong?
I’ve tried with hardware and software encoding with no change.
What resolution and bitrate is the transcoder set to?
I’ve tried it at the three 1080p pre sets so far.
I just tried with the 720p pre sets and it played properly in browser. Maybe the 1080p transcoding is a bit much for the 251+?
