I see multiple visual problems when viewing the HD 720p stations in my area. It looks like the deinterlacing process is engaged for those progressive HD stations.
My 1080i stations don’t have a problem.

Surprised to hear this… the deinterlacer only kicks in when it sees interlaced frames.
Is it problem occurs across all channels? Can you use a computer to capture a stream from one of the affected channels and send it to [email protected]
For example, if your hdhomerun is on 10.0.1.5 and channel 100 is having issues, visit: http://10.0.1.5:5004/auto/v100?duration=30 to download v100.mpg
I got my new v2 style HDHomeRun Extend today. I still have the problem in the channels player with native format, but not with ‘Heavy’ transcoding. I can now see the symptoms on 1080i channels. It is almost like the MPEG2 base frames are rendered properly for a sharp picture. But the delta frames where things are moving are placed improperly. Appears that peoples faces go in and out of focus when they talk against a near static background. I don’t think it is the signal, all of Windows machines render native with no problem.
BTW I really like the v2 Extend. The Connect is going back to Amazon.
Are you still seeing issues on 720p channels as well?
Yes, 720 channels are still losing focus and getting it back. But I can’t test right now. Shipped the HDHomeRun Extend on to my daughter. And sent the HDHomeRun Connect back to Amazon. I will wait a bit and buy another HDHomeRun Extend.
What iOS device were you using when you saw this?
original iPad Air latest iOS
I also have seen jittering (small text is where I see it most) that looks like a deinterlacing issue on Apple TV and iPad. It seems intermittent however.
