Possible to have limited control functions for ATV from iOS app?

One of the things that I really like about the iOS app is that I can scroll the guide on my phone or ipad, choose a channel and then select to watch that channel on my ATV if I wish.

As an expansion of this, is it possible to add in limited playback functions to control the ATV from the phone or ipad such as stop, pause, skip fwd and rewind?

I had been a 7MC user for years previously and also used the ceton mymediacenter app with it. For all of their combined flaws, the one thing I did like was the ability to control other devices around the house (xbox’s and other extenders)

yes that works. the benefit of it being baked into the app was that I could stop playback on individual boxes away from home using the ceton app if i needed to.
