I browsed the forum and didnt see this answer specifically. I currently run plex dvr which, well between channel mapping issues and it hasnt actually recorded anything in the past month, im looking for alternatives.
My question is this: can i bring my already recorded shows and my dvd rips over to channels? if so what is the process like?
No you can't bring already recorded files over to Channels.

As a Plex convert, you may want to keep using Plex as your Media server.
You can move or arrange your Channels DVR recordings so Plex sees them.
Channels is excellent as a DVR when paired with a HD Homerun tuner, or two, or more.
Also excellent as a Live TV Viewer using their client apps.
Channels doesn't try to be a swiss army knife/jack of all trades and that is why Channels support is a thousand times better than Plex support.
