Prevent Exit

Is there a way to prevent the Channels app from exiting as you back out of the various menus. If you hit the back button too many times, you exit. This is on a Shield and the Channels app. Is it possible to add an "Are You Sure" with a yes/no?

It will make my wife much happier (hence I will be happier).

Exiting the app and re-entering it is a non destructive action. There’s no good reason to prompt before doing it.

It destroys the buffer. I think that’s what the op is getting at.

Doesn't it destroy the buffer as soon you backout of liveTV ?

It is not the buffer that concerns me, It is that it destroys the overlay and the appearance of a finished system. If you can back out all the way out and you now see the Shield menu, it can be confusing for the less technical to know that they just have to click to get back into it. I would like Channels to be my front end, so it need to stay the front end and needs to protect from losing focus. Other front ends do have the ability to prevent exit.

I to would like a way to prevent accidental exit of this app.
I have elderly parents I am setting this up with on a NV Shield..and they are very not tech savy.

I was able to use a Button Remap app to force the new Netflix shortcut button on remote to launch Channel instead, so that kinda helps if they back out or hit the Home button.

At least Channels, when u suddenly leave the app, or go home, it does kill the tuner stream from my HDHR Prime....something that a Roku would not do with Emby app. (Was told by them that it a limitation of the locked down OS on Roku that prevents them from properly informing server of the data stream ending...cause locked tuners...bad thing).

The home button always goes home, there's nothing we can do to change that behavior.

There are some apps out there to enable "kiosk mode" on android to lock the device to one app and prevent any other apps from launching. Maybe one of those would help.

I'll give a kiosk app a try. Thanks.
