Problem watching third channel (2 x Connect)

Hi

I have 2 Connect devices here in the UK. One tuner is busy recording two programmes and I’m trying to watch a third channel but for some reason I get the ‘Tuner Not Available’ message. However, this only happens on certain channels.

I’ve tried reordering the priority in Settings but that didn’t help. Is there anything else I can try?

Thanks

Are both devices enabled on the Settings tab?

Are they both configured with the same guide source?

Hi

Yes they are. One has more channels than the other but they both have the channels I was trying to watch last night.

Any other ideas?

EDIT - they are both on Gracenote, I just tried them on SD but that made no difference.

Thanks
KK

What if you disable the first tuner in Settings, does the channel play then? Are you sure the second connect is receiving a strong enough signal to play the channel? Is it running a firmware that fixes the U.K. DVB signal issue?

Hi

Yeah just tried disabling the first tuner and the second one plays fine. Both running the latest beta firmware.

Strange.

If you favorite a channel on both tuners, does it show up in the favs list once or twice?

I’ve added a favourite on both devices and it only shows up once.

I’ve got 2 things recording now for the next 1hr 30m so it’s a good time to test!

Can you try with the beta and click the “report issue” button on the Settings tab afterwards?

Yeah sure.

Thanks for the help.

EDIT: just sent it. I’m actually recording 3 programmes now.

Yea looks like something isn’t working.

Can you email [email protected] with the lineup.json and discover.json from both tuners attached.

Sure thing, but can you tell me whereto get them from please?

Hrm, I’m not really sure what’s going on here.

The logs you sent from the beta app show that it tried playing BBC ONE (101) on 10.0.1.14. Both tuners returned an error. Then it tried playing the same channel via 10.0.1.2, and both tuners said they were busy again. So it failed and showed the error message.

Maybe you can look at http://10.0.1.2/log.html and http://10.0.1.14/log.html to see if the requests are coming in from the app?

You can also look at http://10.0.1.2/tuners.html and http://10.0.1.14/tuners.html to see how many tuners are in use.

Seems to be working now. I’ve just upgraded to the latest beta, did that happen to have any updates that could affect this?

Nope nothing changed.

Then I suspect it’s the order in which the tuners became locked.

Prior to the this, I had Plex recording 2 programmes, then when I tried to watch a third channel (on the second tuner), it failed.

However, now I’m watching one channel on Channels, then I started recording something on Plex, then I opened the HDHomeRun app on my Mac. I’ve restarted Channels, then selected a channel is it’s still working.

Could Channels be struggling to find the second tuner if the first tuner is busy?
