Problem with 2017.02.03.0335 Update

My DVR updated last night and now there is only 1 show listed under DVR; it is the only one that is a single entry and not a pass.

Log shows this a number of times:

“Error during search: cannot perform operation on empty alias”

Along with:

2017/02/02 23:15:40 [DVR] Deleting job with expired serial 1.486096531e+09: 1486179000-30: Jeopardy!

For each pass.

I see guide data, but it looks like something got messed up.

However do I recover from this? Also, can auto updates be disabled? I feel like I have to babysit the DVR to see if an update messed something up.

Thanks.

UPDATE: Restarting it got my shows queued again.

that would defeat the purpose of the beta. i’m sure that they will have a track for people like my mom that just expect things to work and don’t enjoy the problems of development of new features, so that she only gets stable releases, and i could still take the uncertainty of the betas

Done, thanks!

Looks like the DVR didn’t find any HDHRs after upgrade, which caused it to get confused and delete all scheduled jobs.

The point of the beta program is to find bugs like these so they can be fixed. Thank you for reporting it.

Ah, that makes sense. My tuners shut off at 11:15 pm to save a little energy (along with a bunch of other equipment). Is this going to cause a problem in the future if the tuner comes and goes?

The DVR software assumes the tuners are always online, so you may hit more unexpected behavior.

Technically what happened here is a bug- the DVR should be deleting upcoming jobs just because the tuner became unavailable.

OK, thanks. I haven’t seen any other problems with the tuners going offline at night.
