Problem with opening Channel Dvr on my NAS

Hello. I am migrating my data from an old PC to a Synology NAS. I downloaded and installed channel Dvr to my Synology DS-220+NAS however, when I click to open it and proceed with the setup I keep getting a connection time out error that says, the server is taking too long to respond.

These are the instructions I followed to change computers and migrate data...

equipment Im using:
Synology DS 220+
DSM 7
I am accessing the NAS with my windows 10pc with firefox browser.

Not sure what to do to fix the issue. Any ideas?

What is the url in the browser when you see that error message?

eolmeda.us5.quickconnect.to

That won't work. You need to use the IP of your NAS and access it directly at home.

Thats the URL that was auto populated during the channels Dvr install process. I don't see where I can change that.

You would have to look in the Synology network settings, or your router interface to find the IP of the NAS and type that into the browser to access it.

I have the IP but don't see how to enter that according to the instructions I'm following. Here is a pic of the step that I'm on...

I downloaded & installed the channels DVR server onto the NAS. Then it says to open the app and set it up and to choose the restore option at the bottom. However, I don't get that far.

This is a pic to show that app is installed on the server.

channels dvr app

When I click to open it this is what I get...

As you can see the address is already configured and populated during the install.

Did I miss something in the setup process?

What is the IP of your NAS?

Are you at home?

yes I'm home.

ip 192.168.86.187

Does this load: http://192.168.86.187:8089

yes. when i press the link I go to the log in page.

Do I just continue from there?

Yep.

You can also use http://192.168.86.187 to access the Synology interface. The DVR runs on port 8089 so you add :8089 to the end for the DVR.

If I have any other issues i'll repost on this thread.

Thanks again.

Everything is working now. All files are migrated to the nas and Channels dvr is working correctly. Thanks for the support.
