Problem with pass - split show

I've got a pass set up to record Test Cricket to be shown on Channel 4 here in the UK.

Generally it seems like it is set up to work correctly, except for on Sunday the broadcast seems to be split into two:

That is resulting in the pass not picking up both parts to record because Channels thinks that it is the same show:

How can I get Channels to record both parts? I've tried setting up two passes, one for long broadcasts and one for short. But that doesn't work because still Channels thinks that it only needs to record one, not both.

It seems to me that there should be an option to override any filtering that Channels might be doing to avoid duplicate recordings for such situations when you just want to record everything.

I'd like to avoid adding 2 hours padding to the start of the recordings if at all possible. I guess I could do that with a long and short pass where only the short pass has the padding added. But this seems unreliable as how do I know whether Channels will choose to record the first or second part and therefore which end of the recording should the padding be added?

It will record the one airing first, so adding a lot of trail padding will work. Unfortunately, this is one of the edge cases that channels doesn’t handle well. It really doesn’t like recording the same show twice. The only other way I can think to do this is with a manual recording but that is much more complicated as it’s command line.

In the latest DVR pre-relrease, I've made it so you can force record the second half. The guide still acts wonky and won't mark both programs as scheduled, but you can check the actual DVR Schedule which is the master list of what to record and both will be scheduled there.

Thanks, I'll take a look

I can't find an example right now to test it on, but do you just tap on the show as normal and it lets you choose to record it as if you were setting any other non-pass recording?

Yes.

Thanks

In the next pre-release, I've made improvements to the web UI guide so you can control the jobs from there more reliably.

There are also updates to both Android/Apple betas with the same guide improvements there, so the clients properly show what is scheduled on the guide.
