Problems with commercial detection

I am experiencing problems with commercial detection.

Equipment, RPI 4 b 4 GB with Channels installed 2 TB USB Hard Drive
OS RPI Ver: 2021.1101.2046, Status: Server Version 2023.01.23.1746

This setup has been working for a few years with no problems until recreantly.

Now on any given recording, some starting point and end point of commercials and restart of the program are detected correctly and other starting point and end point of commercials and restart of the program in the same recording are not. Not sure on my end what I can do to resolve this.

Any Ideas or help will be appreciated.

I use the same RP 4b Channels image as my server, and commercial detection pretty much went to hell some time ago. I even updated to 2023.02.28.2326, and it made it worse. It barely works on most recordings. I mostly use the 30 second jump, because there's very little choice, and I'm not going to watch commercials more than I absolutely have to.

Commercial skipping has gotten worse over time and the type of server dose not matter. It seems the networks are finding ways to prevent automatic commercial skipping from working. Ho stupid as we will simply use our remotes.

That's been my plan of attack since WMC on Win7 first arrived. Has served me well.

Thanks for the reply's, I too use the remote jump feature, thought there was something I was missing but I guess I'm not. The only time I leave a commercial play is when I get up for a snack
