The bar/box that appears near the bottom of the screen when tuning to a channel that shows the name of the program and it’s progress…I would love to be able to select how long that appears on the screen. Seems to be 5-7 seconds now. I would like the option to have it appear for a shorter period of time.

you can tap the touchpad to dismiss. (ie: it is your decision for how long it appears on the screen)
There are several different timeouts used, depending on the what caused the timeline to appear. The longest is 5 seconds.
Which one would you like to be shorter? When opening the video player from the Guide? Or changing channels using the Favorites dropdown guide? Something else?
Well, for me it would be when entering the video player after selecting a program from the guide and switching between two channels w/ the play/pause double-tap.
